I have better photos!! I forget how much difference there is between my cameras until I try to use my old one... easier to use, but shocking for any kind of detail!
Anyway, here are the much much better photos!! Above is the top, showing some of the detail in the stitching.
This is the top at its full far to long length. I had thought that the pattern I had cut it from was the one I had adjusted from a dress to a top... but apparently not.
So I will cut it down and make it more like the intended length (maybe a little longer than in the photo on the right) and I am thinking of taking it in at the sides a little as well.
Now I have to come up with something else to type to fill in some space so I can put in more photos...
I spent quite a while selecting colours and ordering them. I also had yellow (as opposed to the lime green used) and a lighter/brighter blue included at one point, but they were dropped in an attempt to reduce the overall intensity of the colours.
As described already, I used a stitched zigzag stitch along the visible seams, then trimmed right up against the edge of the stitches.

The top has a dark blue backing, partly because I was over sewing strips of fabric, partly because I figured it would be more confortable. Also because it is nice to have something in the outfit that is not uncomfortable to look at beyond a passing glance. I was tossing up using the same blue colour for flared cuffs on the bottom of the pants, but ended up deciding it was going to be too much.

Oh WOW!!!! This is just fantastic. I love the way you have put together the fabric strips. What a clever idea.
They are fantastic Sharon, such bright, happy colours.
I love your new sig too.
